HP Green R&D Centre (HPGRDC), a division of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL), has partnered with Engineers India (EIL) to promote its in-house hydrogen pressure swing adsorption (HP-PSA) technology.
Under this partnership, HPCL will serve as the ‘Technology Licensor,’ while EIL will act as the exclusive partner responsible for the engineering, marketing, and commercial deployment of this advanced hydrogen technology across India.
The HP-PSA technology developed by HPGRDC has already demonstrated its efficiency and reliability through a commercial-scale, six-bed hydrogen PSA unit at the Visakh Refinery in Andhra Pradesh, which has been successfully operating for over nine years.
This achievement positions HPCL as India’s first and the world’s third licensor of hydrogen PSA technology, marking a significant step toward the country’s goal of achieving technological independence and advancing green energy solutions.
This collaboration between HPCL and EIL is expected to strengthen India’s presence in the global hydrogen market, drive ongoing technological advancements, and support India’s leadership in sustainable energy initiatives.
