Solar Energy Corp. of India (SECI) has invited proposals to develop the core infrastructure required for setting up of green hydrogen hubs under the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
India's Green Hydrogen Mission:
Goal: Identify and develop regions capable of large-scale green hydrogen production and utilization.
Hydrogen hub: A geographical region with green hydrogen producers, end-users, and infrastructure for storage, processing, and transportation.
SECI's Call for Proposals: Setting up at least two hubs (100,000 mtpa each) by FY 2025-26.
Budgetary outlay: INR 200 crore till FY 2025-26.
Support: Provided for core infrastructure (storage, transportation, pipelines, refueling, compression, liquefaction, water treatment, bunkering, port infrastructure, power transmission, land redevelopment, energy storage).
Global Developments:

Marubeni Europower and Suntory Global Spirits: Developing a small-scale hydrogen plant for whisky production in Scotland.

Linde Engineering and Shell Deutschland: Building a 100 MW renewable hydrogen plant in Germany.
