Kundan Green Energy is making a splash in the renewable energy sector with a new contract to build a 21 MW hydropower project in Sikkim, called the Rellichu project.
This project is a win-win for both the company and the state:
Boosting Sikkim's Green Power:
The project will significantly contribute to Sikkim's energy and development goals by generating clean and reliable hydropower.
It will add 21 MW to the state's grid, further strengthening its position as a leader in renewable energy generation.
Kundan Green Energy's Growth Trajectory:
This project marks another step forward for Kundan Green Energy, increasing their total hydropower capacity to 125 MW from the current 104 MW.
It strengthens their presence in the Northeast, a region with immense potential for hydropower development.
Highlighting Sikkim's Hydropower Potential:
Sikkim boasts a remarkable hydropower potential of 8,000 MW, with a firm base of 3,000 MW.
The state is already actively developing this potential, with 29 approved projects in various stages and a 55 MW small hydropower capacity already installed.
Looking Ahead:
While the financial details of the project haven't been disclosed, it's clear that this collaboration between Kundan Green Energy and the Sikkim government will pave the way for a more sustainable and secure energy future for the region.
