PM Modi Unveils ₹17,000 Crore Worth of Transformative Projects in Tamil Nadu

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for infrastructure projects totaling ₹17,300 crore during his visit to Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Among the key unveilings was the inauguration of the ₹7,000 crore Outer Harbor Container Terminal at V.O. Chidambaranar Port.

1. Outer Harbor Container Terminal Inauguration: The inauguration of the Outer Harbor Container Terminal at V.O. Chidambaranar Port, with an investment of ₹7,000 crore, marks a significant milestone in Tamil Nadu's maritime development. The port has demonstrated robust growth, witnessing a 35% increase in traffic over the past decade.

2. Green Hydrogen Hub Port: PM Modi emphasized the transition of V.O. Chidambaranar Port into the country's first Green Hydrogen Hub Port. The green initiatives include a desalination plant, hydrogen production, and a bunkering facility, aligning with India's commitment to sustainable and renewable energy.

3. Harit Nauka Initiative: Launching India's first indigenous green hydrogen fuel cell inland waterway vessel under the Harit Nauka initiative, PM Modi showcased the government's commitment to green transportation and environmental sustainability.
